For my Eagle Scout service project, I led the restoration and enhancement of the Veterans Memorial Garden located at Carter Park in Leominster. The project included removing overgrown shrubs, weeding and mulching planting beds, repairing damaged edging, and installing three new benches to provide a welcoming space for visitors.
I organized and supervised 22 volunteers who contributed more than 180 service hours over two weekends. The project required coordinating with the Leominster Parks Department, local businesses that donated materials, and community volunteers.
The completed garden now serves as a beautiful and accessible place where residents can honor local veterans and attend community remembrance events. This project strengthened my leadership, planning, and communication skills while providing a lasting benefit to the community.
