2026 Weekend Sports Raffle

 Raffle Ticket Disclosures

Sponsor: Heart of New England Council, BSA Inc., a registered nonprofit organization under Massachusetts law.

Permit: This raffle is conducted pursuant to a valid permit issued by the Town of Rutland Clerk and endorsed by the Chief of Police, as required under M.G.L. Chapter 271, Section 7A. Raffle Permit # 102. Must be 18 years of age or older to participate.

Drawing Date: December xx, 2026. Winner need not be present.

Prize Description: Super Bowl Weekend OR NBA All-Star Weekend OR MLB All‑Star Weekend (a $14,000 value). Sports packages include: 2 event tickets, round trip airfare, and hotel from Friday to Monday. Event details, airline, hotel, seating, and travel arrangements are subject to availability and may be substituted with items of equal or greater value. 

Ticket Price: $150 for one ticket. $275 total for two tickets. Discount applies only when both tickets are purchased together; separate purchases are not eligible. There are only 25 2-ticket bundles available.

Payment Methods: Tickets may be purchased by cash, check, or electronic payment, including payments facilitated by authorized volunteers using organization‑approved payment methods. All tickets sold are eligible for the drawing regardless of payment method.

Use of Proceeds: Net proceeds will be used exclusively for charitable purposes in support of Heart of New England Council Scouting programs.

Minimum / Maximum Tickets: Minimum number of tickets: 150. Maximum number of tickets: 300. If fewer than 150 tickets are sold, the raffle will be canceled, and ticket purchasers may request a refund of the ticket price within 30 days.

Sponsorship Tickets: Some raffle tickets may be issued in connection with sponsorship packages. Sponsorship‑issued tickets have the same odds of winning as all other tickets. All raffle tickets sold or issued have an equal chance of winning.

Eligibility: No employee or immediate family member* of the organization may purchase tickets or win the prize.
*Immediate family members include spouse or domestic partner; parents (biological, adoptive, stepparents); children (biological, adopted, stepchildren); siblings (brothers and sisters).

Tax Disclosure:
• The prize is taxable income and is subject to federal and may be subject to state income taxation.
• Heart of New England Council, BSA Inc. will pay the required federal income tax withholding (24%) on behalf of the winner as part of the prize.
• The winner will receive IRS Form W‑2G, which will report the gross prize amount and federal income tax withholding paid on the winner’s behalf.
• Any additional federal, state, or local income taxes due are the sole responsibility of the winner.

Charitable Contribution Notice: No portion of the ticket price is considered a charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes.

Mailing Prohibition: Depositing raffle tickets or related materials in U.S. mail is a violation of federal law and may result in criminal penaltie
