PACE Request Process
(Program/Activity/Communication/Event request)
The Program, Activity, Communication and Event (PACE) Request process has been developed to enhance the planning and communication processes across our Heart of New England Council (HNE) community. Built with input from unit, district, and council leadership, PACE serves as a conduit for timely planning and promotion of relevant activities and program elements with clarity, consistency, and predictability.
Effective May 4, 2022, all HNE Program, Activity, Communication and Event requests must be submitted using the ONLINE FORM.
To allow adequate time for promotion and awareness to reach the target audience, it is recommended that PACE requests be submitted at least 6 months prior to the event or communication date. However, if your timeline is sooner, please submit a request so your event or activity can be supported.
Not all aspects of your activity or event need to be finalized to make a submission. Provide as much detail as you can, and include any relevant materials such as brochures, flyers, or links to related websites and pages. Pre-made promotional materials and/or event collateral must be approved before they are used in any communication. Attachments can be emailed to communications@hnescouting.org
The HNE Marketing & Communications (M&C) Committee oversees the PACE Request process, and we are happy to support your planning, promotion, and communications needs.
Initial response to submissions will occur within 14 days. The M&C Committee will work to develop the appropriate promotion and awareness campaign for each PACE request. This may include posts to social media platforms, inclusion in the Heartbeat electronic newsletter, direct communication to unit leadership, etc.
Examples of activities that should be submitted include (but are not limited to):
- District events (Pinewood derbies, camporees, etc.)
- Council events (training programs, Annual Awards Dinner, special events, high adventure trips, events that typically occur on an annual basis, etc.)
- Communications relevant to a plurality of HNE membership (i.e. District-wide and/or Council-wide notifications)
Note that the form is for council and/or district event promotion, activity awareness, and relevant district and/or council communication. It is not intended for events and news primarily related to individual Scout units.
If you need promotion outside of the traditional methods listed on this form, or if you have questions or need assistance, please contact communications@hnescouting.org .
